I'm launching 2 sites soon(not up yet, as of this comment.Under construction.) But seo by itself isn't all about meta tags. its about relevant content,keywords,networking web 2.0 to the fullest, and creating backlinks(to create popularity.) It's "all of this" and then some. I take a Bruce lee approach to it. It's like water, it "must" be adapted. Use whatever works,discard what doesn't. And content will always be king. My site coming August 20, 2010! peace!

I think what really matters in the Local Business field , is that you have a lot of traffic going to the site and maybe worry about ranking later . Focus on the costumer. the rest will follow. Key words aren't really the capital in what I do as long as I flow traffic to the costumers site . Thanks Good Video !

Hi Lisa. Do you work for Google or what. Webmasters very rarely just link to other sites because they know a link has a value. The big sites that rank high on search engines did not get to top of search engine results for their chosen keywords as a result of the generosity of others. Google wants to push the notion of quality content and the idea of links being a vote for a site because Google wants a constant stream of free content to give to its users.

sorry matt, but with no backlinks you don't get rankings. Thus, Google is still doing a bad job at defining who has the most quality content. And we still need to be building backlinks the boring, long hard way. I'd says the ranking factors are not that clear as you suggest. You say article ranks for fresh content, but it's quite untrue. I have seen articles copied directly from a daily newspaper or a Reuters site being featured on top and credited wrongly to that site, just because that site holds a weightage in your search algos. So don't say that you go for fresh content, say that you go for sites you already give weightage to.

did you restart firefox after installing it? if so you may need to click above the URL address bar in Firefox, make sure when you click up top that "seo toolbar" is checked, then click customize at the bottom of the list. and then on that pop up click on "restore default set" the last issue some people have is that they turn it off...you can verify that you have it on by clicking on the seo book logo and verifying there is a menu link to turn it on or off

More likely it will have the opposite effect, since it will help you make more money with SEO and get you stuck in front of a computer for more hours each day. :) BUT, on a positive note, in 2006 1 in 8 married couples met on the web. Please keep in mind that you need to set your DNS TTL to a low value well before migrating (if you had a TTL of a week, you need to do it a week before the migration to make sure that the new TTL reaches every single DNS server out there).
