One of our competitors in the 400 got hurt in the middle of the race and all of his teammates came out to the track to finish the race with him. By the end of the race, the team had a standing ovation. It's great to see stuff like this every day. You don't have to get the gold to be a true winner.

I was too young to see this when it happened. But every time when I watch it, even though I know what is going to happen I start to tear up when Derek gets up and wants to finish the race. He had no reason, he just wanted to get over the finish line and his father coming out was just instinctive fatherly love for his child. Most folks don't understand it's not all sizzling riffs, it's bending a note, holding it just the right amount of time, a pause between notes in the right place is better than a played note. It's all in the expression, not on the players face, but in his fingers. Derek has got IT for sure. Lots of players know the notes, but don't have the feeling. Derek has the feeling AND the notes.

I'm not saying that Derek isn't good, he just doesn't do it for me. When he is improvising with the slide in this video, he lands on a bunch of sour notes up near the 20+ frets, which makes me cringe a little. He does play some interesting stuff though. I'm not even really a JM fan. I just like his style a little more. My favs are SRV, Freddie King, Joe Bonamassa. Look up on YouTube a local PA guy by the name of Johnny DeFrancesco brother of the great jazz organist Joey DeFrancesco.

Mention Mayer with Buddy Guy, Clapton, and SRV. Derek is a pure guitarist. He only uses the overdrive of his amps. No pedals. He also doesnt use a pick or atleast ive never heard of him using one. Warren Haynes is a monster. He Is in his own league. His PAF tones and his soulful voice are what has kept me a fan for a long time. His work with his band Government Mule and early work with Coe turned him from just Warren Haynes to an icon in Blues and Southern Rock

Derek is good but he hits a lot of notes that aren't even in the key of the song which kind of ruins it for me. Using out of key notes as passing tones is one thing but to land on them as target notes kills the line you are playing. John Mayer is actually a very very good guitar player and is much more polished than Derek. The problem with Mayer is that he doesn't play the cool stuff like he did with the john mayer trio, he'd rather sell out to the radio-friendly crowd.

I disagree. You're right when you say the guitar has more capabilities than a solo. Tell me how he exceeds them in depth, and what is beyond a guitar solo? Playing a good rhythm guitar is much easier than nailing a solo. You sound like minded. All 3 are excellent players. Only one of them has been playing with clapton for the last year(for a good reason:soloing capabilities) and his name is derek trucks.

This video wasn't about showing who's the best guitarplayer. Just a interview with some soft jam. That is not Frusiantes sound at all, and he just got along with same simple bluerytm. I prefer John frusciante because im inlove with his sound and the whole RHCP. But i like the other two guys, they are great bluesguitarplayers, and probably great on others styles too :)

Pudz has experience in kickboxing( feel free to correct me if im wrong). MMA fighters have started to use strongman training in their regime. But an immediate crossover is not viable for both sports.
